Experience

A short tour of who I am, what I'm into, and what I've worked on.

Intro

My name is James Holly. I am a Computer Science student at Wentworth Institute of Technology, where I'll be graduating in August of 2026. I'm drawn to development and engineering work, especially anywhere systems and networks meet code.

What I'm into

My focus is on systems-level work and network engineering. I enjoy building things where the code has to interact cleanly with the machine, the OS, or the wire. I like problems that mix hands-on troubleshooting with technical depth.

Experience

  • Technical Support Engineer · Co-op · Harvard University IT (HUIT)

    May 2025 – Aug 2025 · Jan 2026 – May 2026

Two co-op terms on a six-person engineering team supporting the university's enterprise environment.

    • Contributed 22% of total team output during the quarter — the highest individual share — while supporting 200+ device deployments and refreshes.
    • Troubleshot wired and wireless connectivity, authentication, and software issues across an enterprise university network, applying static and dynamic IP configuration.
    • Performed secure data migrations to mirror user environments, ensuring seamless device transitions with minimal faculty downtime.
